Biography

Early life and education

Susan Rodriguez, FAIA, received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning in 1982 and a Master’s degree in Architecture and Building design from Columbia in 1985.

Career in Architecture

Between 1982 – 1983, Rodriguez worked with Skidmore, Owings and Merrill.  She is a founding partner and Design Principal in Ennead Architects.  Her work focuses on projects for education, cultural, scientific and governmental institutions.  She was the winner of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation’s Built by Women NYC initiative for the Schermerhorn House.  She is the recipient of National AIA Honor Awards, New York City AIA Award, and American Architecture Awards from the Chicago Athenaeum.  She serves on the boards of the Architectural League of New York and Art Works Projects: art + Design for Human Rights.  She lectures often on her work and has taught several design studios at Cornell, Columbia and City College.  She also serves on the boards and building committees of the Collegiate School and the Chewonki Foundation.
